Tswako is situated in the Dilokong area Diphale village and named after the clan name of the first inhabitants of Diphale village under the chieftaincy of Kgosi Mohlala. The school was established in 1972 by the local community to ensure that children of the area receive basic skills of reading, writing and arithmetic. The school has been under the management of unqualified/underqualified principals appointed on temporary basis until when government officially appointed Mr. Selahle as principal in the mid-seventies.
